University of Idaho Head Coaching Position

The University of Idaho Men’s Lacrosse program, a growing, progressive lacrosse program, is seeking a head coach. Nestled in the beautiful Palouse region, outdoor opportunities abound. An hour south of Spokane, with both the University of Idaho and Washington State University 8 miles apart, post-graduate opportunities are plentiful. This is a paid part-time position that reports to the Idaho Men’s Lacrosse Board:

Responsibilities:
General:
· Demonstrate an excellent command and practical knowledge of the sport of lacrosse
· Good people and communication skills
· Know and follow appropriate policies and guidelines of the NCAA/MCLA
· Demonstrated ability to inspire student –athletes to develop their fullest potential on and off the field
· Provide clear and regular communication to the Men’s Lacrosse Board and university representatives
· Demonstrate fiscal responsibility to be able to manage the team to a defined budget
· Provide leadership in identifying fundraising opportunities and support and participate in all fundraising activities of the club

Coaching:
· Attend all practices and games in Moscow, Idaho during the fall and spring lacrosse seasons
· Selection and supervision of paid and volunteer assistant coaches and other support personnel (statistician, etc)
· Direction of the team strength and conditioning program
· Define and communicate the schedule and management of all team practices
· Define and communicate the schedule of spring and fall games & scrimmages, including organized team events
· Monitor player injuries and rehabilitation
· Maintenance and security of team equipment, supplies, and uniforms
· Develop a recruiting and retention plan to meet roster requirements and provide continued contact with perspective players
· Evaluation of players academic progress and eligibility
· Provide regular updates on the team to all appropriate media (web site, Facebook page, newsletters, email, etc)
